The Coin Galleries: Indo-Scythians: Vonones group

The "Vonones family" coins are a group of unusual coins that typically have the names of different kings on the two sides of the coins. They were issued at around the same time as the coins of Maues, or perhaps a little after. Several of the coin types name one Vonones as the king in the Greek legend on the obverse, but a different ruler in the Kharoshthi legend on the reverse. The coins were probably issued some time in the first half of the 1st century BCE.
