The Coin Galleries: Gupta: Ramagupta

Ramagupta was the older son of Samudragupta, but it seems he did not succeed to the throne. Rather, it was his younger brother Chandragupta II, who attained that end. However, it appears that Ramagupta issued some copper coins in Malwa, and may have been attempting to overthrow his brother.
